Aketxe joined Toronto on Feb. 28 from Spanish club Athletic Bilbao.

“At this time, we feel it’s in the best interests of both parties to do this loan,” Toronto general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said in a release. “Adjusting to MLS is different for everyone and Champions League added a new element in this particular situation compared to a standard pre-season. We wish him the best during the loan.”
