DAYS ON THE MARKET: Seven

LISTING AGENTS: Christian Vermast, Paul Maranger and Fran Bennett, Sotheby's International Realty Canada

The Action: This three-storey residence was among many mansions near Rosedale Golf Club that lingered on the market early in 2017. So a different set of agents were brought in and they staged and relisted the home at $7.75-million. An acceptable bid was quickly registered in October.

"We were looking for a buyer upsizing, maybe not in terms of size, but the location and prestige of the street," said agent Christian Vermast, who notes the street is home to esteemed figures, including Four Seasons hotelier Isadore Sharp.

"We had about eight [visiting] parties … which for that price point is quite a bit in a week."

What They Got: This more-than-7,500-square-foot house was designed with six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and entertaining areas on all levels, which are largely connected by an elevator and three staircases.

The main floor brings together traditional and open dining areas, an office and living room with fireplaces, as well as a casual sunroom and family room with access to the patio and 105-by-161-foot grounds.

For the utmost convenience, there is a triple garage with interior access via a mudroom, and a wet bar, wine cellar and secondary pantry in the 2,575-square-foot basement.

The Agent's Take: "It's one of the original Tudor-style homes from the thirties," Mr. Vermast said. "So it has beautiful, authentic and classic curb appeal and grand-scale principal rooms."

Plus, no expense was spared in creating the outdoor pool and kitchen less than a decade ago.

"The back garden was quite modern in contrast to the interior of the house," Mr. Vermast said. "It's not typical because it's quite spectacular."
