IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY

Your determination to succeed is admirable but you also need to know when it is time to back off and give yourself a breather. Not even a Libra can give 100 per cent every day of the year. Learn to be kind to yourself over the coming 12 months.

ARIES (March 21 - April 20):

If you want people to understand what you are trying to say you will have to spell it out for them in words of three syllables or fewer. Not everyone is as sharp or as quick on the uptake as you – in fact hardly anyone is!

TAURUS (April 21 - May 21):

Now that Pluto, planet of power, is moving in your favour again you won’t be so reluctant to take on new responsibilities. But don’t take on too many. Even a Taurus has limits and you are getting pretty close to yours already.

GEMINI (May 22 - June 21):

This will be one of those days when you want nothing more than to be left alone with your thoughts. If anyone is so silly as to invade your personal space they will soon learn the error of their ways. You’re in no mood to be subtle.

CANCER (June 22 - July 23):

It does not matter in the slightest if certain people are talking about you behind your back, there is nothing they can do to influence you. Cancer is a cardinal sign and once you have made up your mind about something that’s it, it gets done.

LEO (July 24 - Aug. 23):

Today’s Mercury-Pluto link warns that people will tell you what they think you want to hear, and what will further their own interests. In which case, take everything you hear with a large pinch of salt – except when it’s your inner voice talking.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 - Sept. 23):

There are so many distractions in your life and so many trivial things going on in the world. Your task today is to block it all out of your conscious mind and focus on your No. 1 aim. What matters to you is the only thing that matters.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 - Oct. 23):

Someone whose arrogance annoys you will give you a hard time today – and you must give them a hard time back. Sadly, the only language some people respect is the language of strength, so stand up for yourself, and maybe shout a bit too!

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 - Nov. 22):

There are some tasks that are too important to be left to other people and the task that is in front of you now is one of them. It may be tempting to sit back while others do the heavy lifting but that could be a huge mistake.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 - Dec. 21):

Yes, someone you are close to emotionally has betrayed your trust but don’t let your disappointment show. This is one of those situations where, if you speak up, it could make the situation worse than before. Keep quiet and let it pass.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 - Jan. 20):

A little bit of mental effort on your part will go a long way toward convincing people in positions of power that you have what it takes to compete at the highest level. You’re not just as good as your rivals, you’re many times better!

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 - Feb. 19):

Don’t think about giving up on something that is proving a tough nut to crack. According to the planets you are very close to a breakthrough but if you give up now you will always wonder what might have been. Stick with it!

PISCES (Feb. 20 - Mar. 20):

What starts off as bad news early in the day will develop into good news later in the day, so don’t get too dismayed by what you hear. They say every cloud has a silver lining and this particular cloud could be tinged with gold as well.
