wine review

The name sounds French but the wine is from South Africa, a blend of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. And it clearly, if subtly, bears a Cape-trademark aromatic note of Band-Aid (or hot rubber), which it wears well. Full-bodied, with concentrated dark fruit character, it’s spicy and earthy, with a pleasant nuance of damp soil along with astringent oak for tight structure. Good value. Available in Ontario.
