wine review

A Côtes du Roussillon red, this is a blend of syrah, grenache and carignan. Full and succulent, it’s perfectly ripe, with notes of blackberry jam, licorice and pepper as well as a tingle of minerality. The structure is firm, with sticky-chewy tannins that bode well for perhaps 10 years in the cellar. Available in Ontario at the above price, various prices in Alberta, $23.75 in Quebec.
