wine review

Yes, a cabernet sauvignon named after the beef stew of Burgundy, which in Burgundy is of course made with the region’s signature red variety, pinot noir. But one could credibly argue the dish has always paired better with fuller-bodied cabernet than with pinot. It’s easy enough to test the theory, because there’s a recipe included on the back label of this bargain organic red. The wine is medium-bodied and juicy, with sweet black cherry and cassis fruit set against powdery tannins. A bright-eyed, simple and sound cabernet. Available in Ontario.
